Extended Case Note: The Han Family Orchard
The Han family owned a persimmon orchard in Gyeongsan with deeds dating to the 1970s. Three generations had added parcels without updating the central registry. When Mr. Han, aged 78, commissioned a Property Deed Registry Packet, our archivist discovered two unregistered boundary adjustments and one lease agreement filed under a former tenant’s name.
Over three weeks, we photographed each parcel, reconciled survey maps with current boundaries, and produced a registry with colour-coded sections for each heir’s intended share. The packet included copies of every deed, a timeline of acquisitions, and contact details for the family’s long-standing surveyor.
Mr. Han’s executor later reported that probate proceedings for the orchard portion concluded in six weeks — significantly faster than the family’s solicitor had projected — because every document was already indexed and cross-referenced.
